Karen Bernod

New York vocalist Karen Bernod has signed with Dome, who will release her second solo album ‘Life @ 360 Degrees’ on May 15.

Currently recording and touring the world with Mary J Blige – and having previously performed that role with D’Angelo and Erykah Badu – she gets a chance to step centre stage with this new self-composed set, a follow-up to her solo debut ‘Some Othaness For U’.

Back in the Nineties Karen was featured vocalist with Incognito on three cuts on their ‘No Time Like The Future’ album, and was part of the band’s live line-up.

Prior to that, she sang on numerous dance tracks, was writer and vocalist on the Cooltempo club anthem ‘Motherland’, sang on Barbara Tucker’s ‘Beautiful People’, sang background vocals on albums by Whitney, Luther, Stephanie Mills, Paul Simon, the Pet Shop Boys…. She was also a lead in the off Broadway production of ‘Mama I Want To Sing’.

Karen and her band will be visiting the UK and Europe later this year.

My good friend Fiona is doing a regular fetaure on Solar Radio http://www.solarradio.com/ – The Juice – Live and direct from New York and in her own words –

” I wanted to inform you that I’m doing a segment on John Dean’s radio show from NY- The Juice live and direct- basically informing people with some new music and telling his audience what’s hot and happening in NY.
I hope you can tune in.

Tonight I just finished— I previewed 5 artists with new tracks.

‘If You Want Me’

Jennifer Johns from Oakland
‘Chasing The Sun’ an exclusive track

HERO- from Canada– off an upcoming album called ‘ Salvation Army’ called ‘What We Gonna Do’

Stephen Simmonds from Sweden— soul artist that’s big over there…’America to Africa’ off the album called ‘ For Father’ and I ended the show with Panamanian Lyricist/Vocalist ALOE BLACC with his upcoming solo album ‘Shine Through’ called ‘I’m Beautiful’.

A great selection if I may say so myself.

Let me know if you can give this some love— I think it has great potential for The Juice and increasing listenership.

Jennifer Johns, of course, is a friend of the site – http://www.lifeandsoulpromotions.co.uk – having been featured previously.

Hope it goes well Fiona and good luck
