We are excited to invite you to a very special Joe’s Pub show!
November is Native Heritage Month and our show on Wednesday, November 12th, 9:30pm, is part of The Public’s Native Theater Festival, a celebration of work from Native artists hailing from the U.S. and Canada. The four-day festival, composed of new work, readings, panel discussions and concerts, will run Nov. 12-15 at the Public.
This will be our last NYC show of the year, if poss, please do come and support this wonderful event hosted by the Public Theater and Joe’s Pub and learn more about today’s Native artistic community. On a political note, words cannot describe my happiness knowing that Barack Obama will be our next President of the United States. I am overwhelmed by the passion and spirit of so many of us who gave money, made phone calls, rallied, etc. to help make this election a success… and it worked. When I think of how many people have waited for this day, how many have passed on not believing this day would ever come, I think of our guitarist Alan AB Burroughs’ 103 year-old grandmother who was born during Jim Crow and lived to see this day… even though there is still so much to sort out, it is so important that we are involved in the decisions made in our country…a change has finally come… more later…
Kindness & peace, Martha
