The Grammy-nominated artist’s new album, “Chapter 4: Labor Pains“, hits stores this April in the Republic of South Africa, Swaziland, Botswana, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Mozambique & Namibia.
“It Is True” and “Shoo Fly” are U.S. singles from the album, however “Be Me” will be the first single for South Africa. Syleena Johnson wrote “Be Me” as a self-affirmation to always stay focused and do what brings her joy. This is all the more reason to spread her message world-wide through the joy of music.
“My South African fans are awesome and they, as well as all my fans, show love for the artist that I truly am and I’m grateful for that, Johnson said. This proves that what I’m doing as an artist and with my label is bigger than we even know and we’re still making an impact,” she continued.
Syleena Johnson first found out about her devoted South African fans in 2005 when “Chapter 3: The Flesh” was released.
The South African fandom is so strong it led to a collaboration with South Africa’s own Afro-Pop soul diva, Kelly Khumalo. Syleena Johnson wrote and is featured on a song that celebrates the healing strength of sisterhood titled “Power of Love” from Kelly’s current album, “Simply Kelly”.
